TOPIC: Is Your Digital Learning Program Accessible?

Date: Monday, November 11, 2013

Time:

6:00 – 6:30 pm: Networking

6:30 – 8:00 pm: Meeting

ABOUT THE PROGRAM

“Section 508 compliance” and “ADA compliance” have become buzzwords, empty of meaning or impact. It’s time to change the focus from “do I comply?” to “how can I maximize value?” Here’s your chance to learn how to define accessibility and usability and how they impact the world of digital learning. Explore some free tools and resources you can use to test your work for accessibility. As a bonus, see some examples of adaptive technologies from the learner’s perspective. What is the accessibility experience like from the learner’s point of view? Attend to find out!

ABOUT THE PRESENTER

Jay Wyant is Minnesota’s first Chief Information Accessibility Officer. His role is to work with Minnesota agencies to develop policies, procedures, and best practices so that they may comply with state and federal accessibility requirements. To that end, he is also developing and implementing tools and resources to help ensure accessible products and services.
