Topic: Meeting Requirements through Online Learning: A Retrospective on Sexual Violence Awareness for Higher Education

Date: Monday, April 11, 2016

Time:

6:00 – 6:30 pm: Networking

6:30 – 8:00 pm: Business Meeting / Program

ABOUT THE PROGRAM

In the wake of an ever-increasing
epidemic of sexual violence, sexual assault, and rape on campuses across the
country, the federal government has stepped in to demand education and
prevention efforts be mandatory for all colleges and universities. One tool
that some schools are using to meet these requirements is an online curriculum
called MyStudentBody, developed by Hazelden Publishing and the
Hazelden Betty Ford Foundation.

Join us for a conversation with a panel of folks from Hazelden Publishing and
Rivertown Communications as they reconstruct their process to build an online
course on Sexual Violence that meets the requirements of the federal government’s
Campus SaVE Act, Section 508 compliance, WCAG 2.0 compliance, and, last but not
least, requirements of customers with a high bar on what makes an “awesome”
online experience for college-level learning.
